Brighter Day Music is the production company of composer, songwriter and producer James Burrell.

Based in London, James has composed for major broadcasters, corporate clients and production companies including the BBC, Nickelodeon, the Mayor of London and BT.

He has scored entertainment series, television documentaries, childrens animation, drama, title sequences, on air promos, political broadcasts, company ident packages, corporate videos, exhibition films, educational films, and live events.

James has eclectic taste and a voracious cultural appetite. He is highly versatile, always striving to create the music the project needs - be this a christmas song, ambient electronica, tudor music or rock.

Depending on the creative needs and budget of the project, James is able to work alone as a one-stop shop from demo to final mix, or to record with other musicians. Fluent in all aspects of programming and production, he can also provide sound design, and where appropriate play guitar, sing, and write lyrics. Though most of James’s work is commissioned, both instrumentals and songs are available to license from Brighter Day Music.

Before composing professionally James worked in marketing, film development and music video. This background greatly helps him to absorb client briefs, articulate musical concepts, collaborate with filmmakers, and to consider the client's practical needs in post-production. This ensures the music production process is as creative, efficient and cost-effective as possible.
